Finance Central Europe declares ProCredit Bank the best bank for 2006

Pristina, 9 November 2006 – For the fifth year in a row, the renowned British magazine Finance Central Europe has awarded ProCredit Bank in Kosovo with the prize “Best bank for 2006”.

In addition to this the first bank in Kosovo was also awarded as the best bank in Kosovo for funds in 2006.

Such an assessment made by a world-renowned institution such as Finance Central Europe is highly appreciated by the ProCredit Bank management.

The awards by Finance Central Europe not only make us proud, but also confirms the highest level of commitment by our bank,” says Ilir Aliu deputy director of ProCredit Bank.

Aliu says that only in the first six-month period of this year ProCredit Bank has successfully concluded the balance sheet, with a total assets of 409 million euros.

At the same time, the deposits of ProCredit Bank clients have reached the amount of 360 million euros, and thus as far as savings are concerned ProCredit Bank still holds the number one ranking in the overall banking system!

The amount of loans has risen quickly and in the first six-month period this figure reached 115 million euros, and the active amount of loans reached over 213 million euros. One needs to emphasize that the loans portfolio has grown more quickly than the total of loans of the banking system in Kosovo.

ProCredit Bank has nearly 30 branches in Kosovo, and it is a member of the group of International ProCredit banks which consist of 19 financial institutions that operate in 19 countries.

ProCredit Bank has so far installed over 1.100 POS terminals and has issued over 140.000 international cards, whilst the number of ATMs throughout Kosovo has reached 52 so that the clients of our bank have 24/7 access to their accounts.
