Prishtina, 23 April 2008 – With the purpose of supporting all those people who work in the farming business, who are involved in agro businesses and rural businesses, ProCredit Bank has facilitated its conditions for the agro loans. This type of loans are – dedicated to this sector and that is considered as one of the most important ones for the economic development of the country!
Through these agro loans, ProCredit Bank is striving to support and stimulate individuals or , small farms in their initiatives for developing their activities.
“Taking into consideration that agriculture in Kosova is the main economic activity and also that this sector contributes in offering new jobs in the rural areas of Kosova, ProCredit Bank has made a progress by reducing the annual interest rate in average 2% for agro-loans, and it has also enabled that for agricultural investment loans to extend the period for returning these loans for up to 84 months” declared Florin Lila Deputy CEO of ProCredit Bank!
Every individual that possesses cattle or farming land, who works and secures the income by selling the farming products or animal products, this person is eligible to be financed by our bank.
The minimum amount for agro loans in ProCredit Bank is 250 euros, whereas the period for returning the loan is based on the selling of products and the grace period is allowed. But to be eligible for a loan the person must have experience in the activity he is going to develop.
Based on the geographical data 53% of Kosovo’s surface is farming land and agriculture contributes 30% of Kosovo’s GDP – and supports 60% of Kosovo’s population, this is a clear indicator of the environment in which we live and ProCredit Bank’s contribution in its development.
On the other hand, ProCredit Bank is the first bank in Kosova that since 2003 has been offering financial access to agricultural businesses in order to help their production.
Until now, ProCredit Bank has disbursed 38,000 loans for supporting the agricultural sector in the amount of 73 million euros. These results clearly show our bank’s contribution in developing this part of the economy.
