ProCredit Bank inaugurates park in Dardania, Prishtina

ProCredit Bank, as a bank that invests in protecting the environment, has today  inaugurated a park in the Dardania neighbourhood of Prishtina.

A public space of over 9,500m² has been turned into a park and benches and trash cans have been installed, transforming the area into an attractive area, which can be used by all residents.

ProCredit Bank’s investment was made possible in co-operation with the Municipality of Prishtina.

Shpend Ahmeti, the Mayor of Prishtina, said; “This project started as an idea last year: to renovate one of the parks in Dardania, plant tree saplings, and place benches for use by local residents.” Moreover, the idea is that a corporation like the ProCredit Bank, which not only operates in the community, but also throughout the country, can use a part of its proceeds to invest in something that brings social benefits to all people.

Investing in Dardania park also illustrates the need for more public green spaces in Kosovo and of the continuous contribution to the environment by a responsible financial institution.

“With this investment, we as a bank aim to contribute towards an increase of green space as a necessity for urban areas. This investment marks the conclusion of a project to increase green spaces in many cities nationwide, representing a total investment of nearly EUR 60,000, with  about 415 trees planted and over 10,500m2 of green area created,” said Ilir Aliu, General Manager of ProCredit Bank.
