The implementation of the new interbank payments system in Kosovo and the IBAN for national payments
We inform you that from 1 July 2016, the existing payments system of the Central Bank of Kosovo has been
completely replaced by a new system designed according to the latest standards in the field of payment
systems (ISO standard 20022).
The new interbank payments system named ATS (Automatic Transfer System) consists of two main
components:
• RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement), which enables the transfer of funds in real time (for payments >
10,000 and priority payments) and
• ACH (Automatic Clearing House) which performs processing of other payments.
In addition, from this date the bank started to operate with IBAN (International Bank Account Number) for
national payments as well. We remind you that the Bank IBAN is XK05 + customer's bank account number.
These changes in no way affect the process of registering your payments, therefore your national payments
will continue to be registered by you same as before, since all the changes mentioned above are implemented
in the our bank and CBK system only.
